Choose leaders who are personally willing to sacrifice a lot more than required and a hell lot more than you. Because then you know that they believe in and are committed to the narrative they propose.

Make better alternatives and support them. Rather than settling for substandard morally corrupt leadership because there are no alternatives possible. Don’t be a forever moaner, be a doer. Let’s make the change we want.
